Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
Welcome! We hope you are ready to begin a new and exciting year at Cortney Junior High School. We look forward to seeing everyone at our “JUMP START/OPEN HOUSE” day. It is important to pay attention to the dates and information outlined below.
Wednesday, August 3, 2022 – “JUMP START/OPEN HOUSE”: All students and parents are invited to join us for our annual “JUMP START” day. Students can pick up their class schedules in the cafeteria. After schedules are received you may pay for P. E. clothes and class fees in the gym. Cash and money orders will be accepted. We can no longer accept personal checks. Student escorts will be available to help students locate their classrooms and meet their teachers.
The “JUMP START/OPEN HOUSE” day will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 11:00 a.m. We look forward to seeing everyone. If you are unable to attend our “JUMP START/OPEN HOUSE” Day, you will receive your class schedule on the first day of school.
Monday, August 8, 2022: Campus opens at 7:40 a.m. At 8:00 a.m. students will report to their assigned “Alpha” classroom as posted throughout the campus.
Required Supplies: Teachers will go over their required supply list during the first week of school. You will find additional helpful information on the back of this letter. CORTNEY JUMP START/OPEN HOUSE
Students who do not pick up their schedules on Jump Start/Open House day will be able to pick them up the first day of school, Monday, August 8, 2022.
Pre-registered students may pick up their schedules and locker assignments in the cafeteria between 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m according to the following schedule:
6th grade—9:00 a.m. 7th grade—9:45 a.m. 8th grade—10:15 a.m.
P.E. CLOTHES & CLASS FEES
After receiving his/her schedule the student may go to the gym to purchase their P.E. clothing or fine arts fees.

Payment by money order or cash. Make money orders payable to Cortney Junior High School.
PERSONAL CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
Students will be informed of additional supply needs if any by their teachers after the start of school.
