The 2021-2022 school year has come to an end and we are already planning for the return of our students, teachers, and staff. Our summer acceleration program is in full swing until June 17, 2022.
Our annual “JUMPSTART OPEN HOUSE” will be on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Students will be able to get their class schedules, meet their teachers, purchase P.E. clothes, and pay for elective class fees. Registered Cortney students will be receiving more information in the mail in the middle of July to explain the details of “JUMPSTART” day and the upcoming school year. The Cortney JHS offices will be open for registration beginning on July 20, 2022 .
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I would encourage all parents and students to continue your education at home. Students who practice math facts and read on a daily basis come back to school in August better prepared to succeed. Take a few minutes every day to review math problems so your child does not forget what has been learned this year. Math, English, reading, and science lessons and questions can be printed from the Southern Nevada Regional Professional Development Program’s website at http://rpdp.net/. Students and parents can get all the necessary resources you will need to assist your child this summer.
Thanks again for a wonderful school year. We wish our 8th grade students the best of luck in high school and hope everyone has a safe summer vacation with family and friends.
