Dear Phenomenal Cobras,
My name is Dr. Ed SanNicolas, a new member of the Cobra Family. I am excited and honored to serve as the new Principal of Francis H. Cortney Junior High School. I will partner with students, teachers, staff, parents, families, and community members to develop a Cobra Community of Learners who are excited about education and being successful in middle and high school. I am from a family of civil servants and educators. I have over 25 years of experience in education in middle and high school.
I understand the critical importance of middle school education as students transition from elementary school into the opportunities for college and career education in high school. Over the years, I have worked side by side with caring educators. Together, we observed many doors open for our students as they began to excel.
I want to listen and learn from our teachers, students, parents, and community members so that we can continue to build a school and community that is safe and respectful, and one that excels. I am truly honored and proud to be your principal. Over the next few weeks, I will be inviting parents, families, and caregivers to share their thoughts with me. Please join me.
As I learn how to Be a Cobra, I invite our students to learn with me how to “BE.”
